Set your own quit date

Unlike other quit smoking programmes, we don’t actually ask you to quit from day one. Instead we focus on changing the way you think about smoking, which in turn will change the way you act in preparation for your quit date.

4 Stage Programme

Our four stage programme is split into bite-sized steps, taking no more than five minutes a day to complete. Along the way, we’ll set intermittent challenges, and in less than a month, you’ll be well on your way to quitting smoking for good.

Evidence-based CBT

Everything we do is based on scientifically-proven research in smoking cessation. We use CBT to change the way you think and act, and mindfulness to help you overcome cravings. For those science boffins, find out more about out evidence-based approach here.

Preparing for your quit date

Stage 1

The first stage is all about your smoking journey. We’ll begin by looking at the reasons you started smoking in the first place, then we’ll get a better understanding of some of the key terms when it comes to quitting smoking. Finally, we’ll end with an exercise that will help us look into the future, and life beyond cigarettes.

Stage 2

In the second stage we’ll explore how nicotine addiction really works, by looking at the effect it has on both body and mind. We will address the myth that quitting smoking is extremely difficult, and then go on to explore the problems one can expect when quitting, and why they occur.

Stage 3

Our minds are incredibly powerful, but they can sometimes fall into traps that may not always help us. We all develop habits which influence how we think and see the world. In the third stage, we’ll revisit the benefits we think we get from smoking and start to break down the misconceptions we’ve formed in our minds.

Stage 4

In the final stage, we focus on the behavioural part of cognitive behavioural therapy, by using scientifically proven behavioural techniques to help change your behaviours in preparation for your quit date. It may feel daunting, but don’t worry, we’re with you every step of the way!

We help you reflect

One of the reasons smokers can remain trapped for years on end is because their ability to self reflect has been compromised. Whilst a smoker will know that the addiction is harming them, they can often be in denial. By engaging in our self-reflection exercises, you will take the first step to learning who you really are and eliminating unhelpful beliefs that keep you smoking.

We help you become mindful

Whatever people say, cravings can be difficult to resist. Even when you have made a promise to yourself and you rationalise the tricks that your mind plays on you, the desire for just one last puff can be strong. Luckily, we will teach you how to focus your attention on the present moment. Every time your thoughts wander off, mindfulness can help to gently refocus your attention back to the present and remind yourself why you quit in the first place.

We help you become fearless

Behavioral therapy changes how we act. Instead of avoiding situations and other people, you will learn to feel comfortable and confident, because we took action. You’ll gain the ability to manage your own reactions/responses to situations more skilfully.

We don’t believe any two smokers are the same, which is why we take a personalised approach to help you battle your addiction, through the use of tailored steps, goals and feedback.
